Platinum Press Hosts Congressman Veasey for Facility Tour and Patient Safety Discussion

Press Release : PPLA

Washington, D.C. (June 21, 2024) – Congressman Marc Veasey (D-TX) visited Platinum Press’ cutting-edge printing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, where he learned about the role of printed medication information in advancing patient safety and supporting the state’s economy.

Employees at Platinum Press urged Congressman Veasey to support the Patients’ Right to Know Their Medication Act (H.R. 1173). This legislation ensures that all patients receive clear, printed Patient Medication Information (PMI) with every prescription, countering the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) proposal to eventually shift PMI to a digital-only format. Millions of patients rely on printed medication information for their health, and Platinum Press plays a pivotal role in meeting this need.

“Businesses such as Platinum Press are paramount to the economic development of Fort Worth. Witnessing their top-down commitment to patient safety and working alongside their knowledgeable team members was both a pleasure and a unique learning experience. Thank you, Platinum Press, for your hospitality. I enjoyed the experience and your team was awesome,” said Congressman Marc Veasey (D-TX).

“Platinum Press was honored to host Congressman Veasey at our Fort Worth facility. Printed medication information is essential for the health and safety of patients, and we appreciate Congressman Veasey’s visit to recognize the critical work we do. We urge Congressman Veasey to help pass the Patients’ Right to Know Their Medication Act to safeguard patient safety and the jobs our industry supports,” said Andrew Vale, Vice President at Platinum Press.

Platinum Press, one of the nation’s leading suppliers of printed packaging products for the US healthcare industry, operates a 220,000 square foot facility equipped with state-of-the-art printing presses.
