Over 30 years since the World Wide Web’s debut, internet, broadband, and smartphone use have increased for all Americans. However, disparities persist between lower and higher income groups.
According to a PewResearch study, 24% of low-income Americans don’t own a smartphone and over 40% of low-income Americans don’t have broadband and do not own a desktop or laptop computer at home.
That’s why the FDA needs to reconsider its proposed rule that would transition printed Patient Medical Instructions to digital, effectively restricting access to life-saving medication information to millions of Americans.
